Itinerary

CHECK OUT YOUR

Fuerte Amador (Panama City)
Day 1
Located west of Panama City, at the Pacific terminus of the Panama Canal, Fuetre Amador is a manmade causeway, constructed with material excavated from the canal. Before boarding your boutique cruise ship, be sure to stop in at the Miraflores Locks’ visitor’s centre. Here you will learn about the impressive engineering that went into building this legendary waterway. Watch the mighty barges make their way through the canal from the panoramic observation deck. A short taxi ride away, Panama City is a modern and vibrant place that has evolved around its Spanish colonial centre, the Casco Veijo. Here you can wander through a conquistador-era UNESCO World Heritage Site, sip coffee in the street cafés or enjoy some shopping in the malls.
Day at sea
Day 2
Sea days are rarely dull. Take the time to sit back and let the world go by. The ship’s observation decks provide stunning views of the passing ocean. A day at sea gives you the opportunity to mingle with other passengers and share your experiences of this incredible trip or head to our library which is stocked full of reference books. Get an expert’s view in one of our on-board lectures or perhaps perfect your photography skills with invaluable advice from our onboard professional photographers.
Bahia Culebra, Playa Panama
Day 3
A secluded paradise, Bahía Culebra is a protected inlet and marine sanctuary known for its turquoise, jade and sapphire waters surrounded by Jagged cliffs and rocks. With its snake-like shape, the bay is home to a diverse range of ecosystems from lush rainforests to two mangrove stands (Panamá and Iguanita). Here, sea turtles, schools of colourful tropical fish, dolphins and whales live among the coral reefs. Archaeologists value Bahía Culebra for pre-Columbian sites including a cemetery with more than 70 burials.
Amapala
Day 4
The only town on the volcanic island of Isla del Tigre, Amapala was once Honduras’s primary Pacific port. The island’s first part-time residents were likely pirates, including the legendary Sir Francis Drake, who used the island as a hideout until 1770. Spend time relaxing on the pleasant beaches or enjoy some of the local seafood in this lost-in-time corner of the world.
Day at sea
Day 5
Today as you sail, you’ll bask in the endless comforts of your ship. From the deck, marvel at the dramatic sea views. Relax with a nurturing facial treatment or massage in the spa or delve into the ship’s learning resources. Or, simply take refuge in your cabin and enjoy the opportunity to rest.
Huatulco
Day 6
Home to nine scenic bays and 36 pristine beaches, the charming town of Huatulco offers lots of opportunities to immerse yourself in local coastal life. Interestingly, when developing Huatulco for tourism, ecological attractions were given just as much consideration as traditional beach resort activities. As a result, the hotels and buildings are spread out, low rise and relatively unobtrusive. Today we’ll be visiting the main settlement in the area, Crucecita. Crucecita is as charming as it is authentically Mexican. From here we’ll be exploring the pre-Hispanic ruins of Copalita Ecological Park, a site still relatively unknown to tourists. We’ll also stop in at the enchanting Cascadas Magicas de Copalitilla waterfalls.
Acapulco
Day 7
Acapulco, nicknamed ‘Pearl of the Pacific’, is Mexico’s most glamorous pacific resort that rose to fame in the jet-set era of the 1950s. Located on a deep, semi-circular bay, Acapulco is located southwest of Mexico City. With an average of 360 days of sunshine per year, the weather here is famously amicable. The city originated as a port city for Spanish galleons sailing between Spain and the Far East. Learn more about the city’s past at the Acapulco Historical Museum. Or perhaps head out on a bird-watching trip at Coyuca lagoon with a local ornithology expert. Pass through lush vegetation and native flora on the lookout for some of the 250 species of birds that call the lagoon home.
