NORTH ATLANTIC & CANADA
Lands of Untamed Beauty and Vivid Contrasts
What Awaits You
These voyages follow the North Atlantic edge from Canada to Greenland and Iceland. You move between small ports and wide Arctic seas, with days shaped by weather, ice, and light. Expect fjords and glacier fronts, iceberg filled bays, plus coastal communities where Inuit culture and Norse history still sit close to the surface. Some sailings go deeper into Greenland’s west coast and Disko Bay, with time to take in places like Ilulissat Icefjord. Later in the season, the days shorten and the nights open up. On Northern Lights itineraries, the aurora becomes part of the experience, alongside landings, Zodiac cruising, and talks that give each place context.
Historical Waters
Venture into the captivating lands of Canada and the Arctic, where the echoes of the past reverberate through the very air you breathe. Immerse yourself in the enduring wisdom of the Inuit, the people of the North, who have harmoniously coexisted with their unforgiving yet breathtaking land for millennia. Listen to tales of Viking and Victorian explorers, their intrepid spirits forever intertwined with the crackling winter ice. Trace the footsteps of the first settlers who dared to venture across the unforgiving Atlantic, their stories etched indelibly into the landscape. As you navigate these historical waters, let the whispers of the past guide you.
Where Ice Shapes the Land
Along the Arctic coastline, the landscape feels alive and unfinished. Glaciers still calve into the sea. Fjords cut deep into the land. Ice and waves keep working the edges, season after season. This is also a place where time shows itself. Some cliffs expose rock that formed billions of years ago. Other shorelines look newly carved, as if the last ice age ended yesterday. You travel through it slowly, close enough to see how ice, water, and wind made everything you are looking at.
Expedition Activities
Most days revolve around time off the ship, led by the Expedition Team and shaped by weather, ice, and local conditions. You may head out by Zodiac for close coastal access, join guided walks on tundra and shorelines, watch for wildlife from deck and landing sites, then return on board for briefings and talks that add context to what you have seen.
